Initiatives we support

Bohlale Institute supports TRY

The Township Rugby Youth (TRY) Tournament is poised to make a significant impact in Gauteng’s townships by providing a unique platform for young rugby enthusiasts. The tournament, featuring 10 clubs from 10 different communities and focusing on both boys’ and girls’ teams from under 11s to under 13s, is set to bring the game of rugby to communities that have traditionally been overlooked.

At Bohlale, we empower growth and support the initiative through direct stakeholder involvement, sponsorship, fund raising and operational support. The development of Township rugby is a dedicated focus for the Institute.

Johannesburg Art Gallery Revival

The recent rejuvenation of the Johannesburg Art Gallery marks an important moment for arts and culture in South Africa. As one of the country’s most significant cultural institutions, the gallery holds immense value, not only as a home for artistic expression and heritage, but also as a space that inspires dialogue, creativity, and community connection.

Bohlale Institute was proud to lead from the front in driving and supporting stakeholders throughout this important project. By helping to bring together the necessary role players and contributing to the momentum behind the rejuvenation, Bohlale played an active part in supporting the preservation and strengthening of a landmark that carries deep cultural and historical significance.

At Bohlale Institute, we believe that arts and culture are critical to the growth and identity of our country. They shape narratives, preserve heritage, create opportunities, and give communities spaces to reflect, engage, and imagine new possibilities. Supporting initiatives such as the rejuvenation of the Johannesburg Art Gallery aligns with our broader commitment to meaningful development and nation-building.

Bicycle Donation Event

Bohlale Institute was proud to support the donation of bicycles to previously disadvantaged girls at a local school, helping to create greater access, mobility, and opportunity in their daily lives. This initiative represents more than just the gifting of bicycles. It is a meaningful contribution toward empowering young girls with greater independence and easing some of the challenges they may face in getting to and from school.

At Bohlale Institute, we believe that practical interventions such as these can make a real difference in the lives of young people and in the communities they come from. By supporting initiatives that directly benefit learners, particularly young girls who may face additional barriers, we contribute to creating an environment where dignity, confidence, and opportunity can thrive.

This bicycle donation reflects Bohlale’s ongoing commitment to supporting meaningful community upliftment and investing in initiatives that help build a more inclusive and empowered future for South Africa.
